Has Concorde released its plans for SCCL as far as age groups and locations? I know that UFA plans to run SCCL out of Norcross and NPL out of Forsyth. I'm curious if Concorde has similar plans given their multiple locations. On the tryout page, only a few age groups and locations show SCCL tryouts: - Central - U12/U13 boys & girls
- South - U18/19 girls only
- West - U13 boys only
My understanding from the press release was that Concorde (and each of the other clubs) would have one team per age group for boys and girls.
Thanks, in advance, for the feedback.

Concorde is one of the only clubs to not post club specific information about the SCCL. They also have several teams listed as playing SRPL/RPL, so I would not read to much into what their website says.
Weird that they haven't listed north teams for SCCL and I also thought the south program was folding at the older girls age groups. Regardless, I am trying to keep up with it all because I am not sure what my kids will do next year. I imagine if they drop DA like everyone says it would really shake things up again and possibly put all SCCL back at central? My head is already spinning and I am not even sure it is over yet!!!

I think Concorde is in a current freefall, they are waiting to last moment to update info as they are losing DA, coaches and potentially bigger changes within the next year on the horizon.

I have heard that currently their thought process is that the SCCL will played out of which ever branch is the strongest at any particular age group. In other words, after ECNL, the next highest team would get the SCCL.
For instance, if the next highest team is at Concorde North for say the U13 girls, that is where it will be based... but the U14's girls next highest is out of Concorde Central, then the SCCL would be based out of there. (FYI, I'm not with Concorde so those are fictitious examples, I have no idea who is the next highest team at any age group).

I would imagine a number of SCCL teams in various locations.

Coaches change every year, so I am not sure how much I read into that unless the coaches are actually named. IF which is not certain, Concorde does not have DA next year, I was under the understanding that they would be choosing to leave, not losing it. Those are two very different things that people seem to use interchangeably on here. I am not sure if that is on purpose to make Concorde look better or worse, or just an issue with understanding. Does anyone know for sure? Next, I am not sure what bigger changes there could be if you think they are losing important coaches and DA this year? What would be bigger than that?

That would work for this year because you can say Concorde Central was in Athena a and Cocorde west was in Athena c. Concorde Central plays in the new league and Concorde west stays in Athena. Next year the new league will be isolated from outside competition. It will be much harder to compare. Do you go to "Got soccer" or soccer college? Who is getting better who is getting worse. Who cares?

Also I think it will be easier to schedule games with only 1 team per club.

Also I would not worry if your team does not get sccl. you are probably better off. Maybe, but what WILL suck is if you stay in Athena A and win it, but have no where to advance. Promotion/Relegation is sadly gone. Geez, WTH has happened with youth soccer? Sad days...

Considering SCCL starts at U12, you have less background to draw upon to make your U12 and U13 teams for the league.

Sounds like he is alluding to Concorde being able to get away with a lot because of their past influence with Georgia Soccer. I doubt this is a serious comment, however, if it is he is wrong. There is zero chance they will be able to put more than one team in the SCCL if everyone else is only allowed one team.

My post is sort of a "I'll bet this happens..." thing. As long as I've been in youth soccer as a parent, it becomes more and more true, rules are made to be broken and there is negotiation among leagues and clubs in which we have no knowledge or understanding. Because of its multiple locations, I predict more than one SCCL team for CF for a particular age group. This may be true for other big clubs. Why would U.S. Club Soccer not want that?

If Concorde has more than one team per age group the other clubs would also have to have more than one team per age group or who would the other Concorde teams play with. Will they just play with themselves?

This makes sense to me. Concorde has better depth of quality up and down every age group. SCCL could expand simply by letting Concorde play as Central and North. Clever and not something I had thought about before.

Just like SRPL Division 1, teams play other teams in the division or league - it's just that one club has more than one team.

Just like SRPL Division 1, teams play other teams in the division or league - it's just that one club has more than one team. Conceptually it makes sense to me. If it’s true that Concorde dropped or got dropped from GDA then they need more places for teams. Right now they’ve lost two leagues, RPL and GDA, and they’ve gained one, SCCL. In my little mind that seems like bad programming math for Concorde so if they could get two spots per age group with SCCL that might help.

For now 1 team per club in SCCL. The Premier League platform under Us Club provides for there to be up to two tiers in leagues. Right now they are just doing the 1 tier, but I could see it eventually moving to two tiers. Big question if it goes to two tiers is would there be relegation. And if so is it only on a club basis or league basis? Meaning:
Club Basis: Tier 1 and Tier 2 team from club can swap places depending upon results (this means each of the 8 clubs retains a spot in tier 1 and tier 2, but if a clubs tier 1 team under-performs, the tier 2 team might take its spot)
League Based: Top 6 in Tier 1 stay and bottom 2 go to Tier 2. Top 2 Tier 2 are promoted and bottom six stay in tier 2. (this means one club may have 2 teams in tier 1, and other clubs might have 2 in tier 2)
My guess is that neither happens clubs protect their positioning. In place of earning relegation top teams will earn their way into region tournament.

Wow if the Concorde ECNL teams get put into the sccl they will crush everyone! ECNL is looking to go to clubs having 2 ECNL teams per age group, so likely DA team goes to first ECNL spot and current ECNL would go to second spot. You could also see Concorde field a NPL team in the future. Who knows.

Assuming the DA kids will push the current ECNL kids out if DA is abolished. I still don’t understand Concorde logic here but I guess things could have happened in a series of unfortunate events for Concorde. They gave RPL/NL where they could put X+infinite number of teams per age group into multiple leagues in exchange for SCCL where supposedly they can put only 1 team. Then they gave up or lost GDA which put downward pressure for those teams down into their ECNL teams. Am I missing something here? In NL they could have place teams in Piedmont Conference and Sunshine Conference and the the traditional top layer National League. Nearly unlimited ability for Concorde to scale. They trade that and GDA for SCCL. Huh? Whose making these decisions? Reminds me of that movie Sahara Al: “Hey, you know how it is when you see someone that you haven’t seen since high school, and they got some dead-end job, and they’re married to some woman that hates them, they got, like, three kids who think he’s a joke? Wasn’t there some point where he stood back and said, ‘Bob, don’t take that job! Bob, don’t marry that harpy!’ You know?” Dirk: “Your point?” Al: “Well, we’re in the desert, looking for the source of a river pollutant, using as our map a cave drawing of a Civil War gunship, which is also in the desert. So I was just wondering when we’re gonna have to sit down and re-evaluate our decision making paradigm?” It could be that the Concorde leadership is Dirk and has some how found the magic in what is otherwise completely irrational logic that will lead to what is highly implausible success. Or it could be that Concorde is Bob and taking a dead end job and marrying a harpy that will hate him for decades with kids that will forever think he’s a joke.

At some point I see them expanding this SCCL into a 2nd Tier, and if they can get it even a 3rd Tier and removing more teams from Georgia Soccer and the Classic/Athena system if SCCL proves to be successful (which I'm not convinced of yet). Otherwise they are indeed messing over the 2nd and 3rd teams that end up winning Classic I or Athena A and have nowhere to go. They will eventually need to add these teams into SCCL somehow to keep their players from leaving.
I'm hoping this because my kid is with one of those clubs and will play U13 next year. He is not at the main campus for the club, but going from how the teams did in U12, they are probably the 2nd or 3rd best team in the whole organization after DA at that age group. I could see them over time being in Classic I and winning it.

In NL they could have place teams in Piedmont Conference and Sunshine Conference and the the traditional top layer National League. Nearly unlimited ability for Concorde to scale. They trade that and GDA for SCCL. Not sure but I don’t think they chose to get rid of GDA. Maybe, but I think it was more involuntary. Secondly, there is a reality check in how many teams they can place in RPL/NL. This season they had 3 girls teams total in RPL who won a total of 6 games. No teams participated in NL. Not sure about boys. So Concorde could have looked at it as a choice of a few teams in USYS leagues or guaranteed 7 teams in SCCL.
